In high-speed optical transceivers of 100G and above, especially coherent optical transceivers and silicon photonics transceivers, PM FAU (Polarization-Maintaining Fiber Array Unit) serves as the "key hub" for ensuring the stable transmission of polarized optical signals. Different from ordinary FAUs that only realize high-density coupling of optical signals, PM FAU uses special polarization axis alignment technology to accurately arrange polarization-maintaining fibers in fixed polarization directions (e.g., 0°/90°). While enabling parallel transmission of multi-channel optical signals, it effectively avoids polarization state crosstalk, providing core support for the signal integrity of high-speed optical modules.
